Our Authors

Sundlight authors shine so bright they've gotta wear shades!
Sarah, Ruth and Keir have written a diverse collection of books. They have developed unique writing styles across many genres, and possess an ability to present and interact with children that leaves a lasting impact. Their school presentations align with learning standards and can be easily integrated with curriculum.

Need curriculum ideas and/or fun ways to extend learning and increase student engagement before and after the visit? We can do that!

Looking for a deeper dive into the writing process? Let us create a custom, more personal, experience for smaller groups of eager young writers!
Interested in a family or community event? Sundlight continues to shine after the sun goes down!

At Sundlight we believe in offering top quality experiences, and consequently choose to represent a limited number of authors and illustrators on a FT basis. If you would like to be added to the waitlist to join our team, please reach out via the contact page. Additionally, if you are a creator traveling in the Chicagoland or Milwaukee area and have a day you would love to fill with an additional event, I’d love the opportunity to collaborate!

Sarah Aronson began writing for kids and teens when someone in an exercise class dared her to try. Since then, she has earned an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults and published a variety of books for kids and teens from Head Case, to Beyond Lucky, The Wish List series, as well as Just Like Rube Goldberg, illustrated by Robert Neubecker, Brand New Bubbe, illustrated by Ariel Landy, and Abzuglutely!: Battling, Bellowing Bella Abzug, illustrated by Andrea D’Aquino.

Keir is the author, with James Patterson, of MK’s Detective Club, a new mystery series for middle-grade readers. Under his own name, he has written funny and fantastical middle-grade adventure novels including The Tiny Mansion, The Phantom Tower (a Chicago Tribune Best Children’s Book), and The Matchstick Castle (an official Illinois Reads selection). He also writes books for grown-ups—some of them under fake names.

Ruth is the author of more than 30 children’s books, with over one million copies in print worldwide. Her bestselling Baby Loves Science board books are the groundbreaking originals that introduce big ideas to the littlest listeners in an age-appropriate and engaging style. The series has been praised by the Los Angeles Times, NPR, TODAY, Popular Science, Working Mother, and more.
